“In 2012, The Whippersnappers were formed at Peabody High School in Trenton, TN, by Shane Wofford and Brent Hopper after quickly learning of their shared love of folk and bluegrass music. The two began performing songs by folk legends such as Flatt & Scruggs and the Everly Brothers along with music from more modern artists such as the Avett Brothers and Joe Pug.
Since then, the project has only grown stronger, and the band now sports a 4-piece blues and rock lineup for larger shows, as well as their original two-man folk outfit for more intimate venues. The band has played throughout West Tennessee, from Martin to Jackson to Memphis, and in 2015 released their self-titled debut album, comprised of entirely original music. The band is currently in the process of creating material for a second album, as well as just having a good, ol' fashioned blast playing music."
